MHR Research Symposium

On February 3, the Masters of Human Rights program held its annual Research Symposium. Second-year students from the thesis and practicum streams presented on their research, with amazing presentations on human rights education, Indigenous reconciliation, gaps between international law and domestic implementation, and human rights in the digital age. We were also honoured with our keynote speaker, the Honourable Roméo Dallaire, and guest speakers Métis Elder Norman Meade and journalist Bartley Kives.

We want to give a HUGE thank you to program director Mary Shariff for all of her incredible work on this day. Thank yous as well to the U of M staff for their behind-the-scenes work on food and sound, all our first-year volunteers, @maddy.nn for her incredible photography, our guest speakers, and of course, all the advisors and practicum sites for guiding us along this research journey.
